Is Lack of Education to Blame?

We are raising our children in an evil world.

I have started and deleted this post 7 times. I just don't have the words. So I am just going to (verbally) vomit all over this post.

What is happening in our world is just horrific. I refuse to turn on the news when my children are present. It is my job as their mother to keep them safe. At 4 and 6 they don't need to know the horrible things that can happen just outside the safety of our door. Things that can happen just because you have the 'wrong' color skin or believe the 'wrong' thing.

I have a deep passion for education, especially the education of those in low-income areas. I truly feel that the only way out of those situations is to get a good education. With a good education you can get a good job and make a better life for yourself.

I don't think that it is right that we pay athletes insane amounts of money and do not even pay our teachers enough to get by without working 2nd jobs. I don't think that it is right to expect teachers to buy the things they need to properly educate the children that are our future -- or if they do get a budget to get extra things it is so tiny it goes no where.

Nothing is going to change in this world if we don't start improving lives and in turn start improving communities.
